ATELIER MAYER

I was kind of surprised by what dropped in the inbox about 2 weeks ago, Atelier Mayer - the online vintage luxury clothing boutique - is launching a magazine! Atelier Mayer is the site you should bookmark if you're looking for exquisite vintage pieces by Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, Lacoste, Givenchy and so many others.

Why would an online retailer publish a magazine? Well, Carmen Haid, Atelier Mayer's founder, wanted to create something tangible you could keep forever, an inspirational publication about fashion and art.

The magazine is going to be released twice a year, get your copy over here!

Check back on the 16th of July for a little sneak peek inside the magazine!

EDIT: The time has come so here it is, a little feature of one of the articles. It's about vintage airline costumes and kind of fun to read. This isn't the entire article though, if you want to read it get yourself a copy of Atelier Mayer magazine!

GET EXCITED

Why should you get excited? Well Couture week of course!! Whii, can't wait to see the shows, especially Christian Lacroix's, after all the reports of his label going bankrupt... Hope his show will be as optimistic & colourfull as always!

These pictures are long overdue, they're from my trip to Paris in April. I shot them with my vintage Camera (Kodak Retina IIa for those who would ask).

As you can see, these are far from perfect, the quality is kind of poor (I'm not claiming to be a great photographer). I'm currently looking for a light meter (so that I don't overexpose my pictures), for the moment I'm just sort of guessing which settings I should use! As always, tips are appreciated!

AUSTRIAN VINTAGE

Yup that's right, Austrian Vintage by Bows & Bandits. I told you about this vintage shop a while ago (well, actually it was back in December ). But since winter is long gone, I thought I'd share a few pieces of their spring-summer collection with you!
These pictures are from the SS09 Lookbook, some of the dresses/skirts are in store now so go and take a look at their ebay store !

All pictures from Bows & Bandits

Behind Bows & Bandits are Austrian sisters Sophie & Eva, Eva being the photographer of all these great picters and -of course- Sophie being the model!
So if you're in desperate need of a cute vintage dress or skirt or another something something, now you know where to go!

EDIT: I'm currently listening to Michael Jackson - P.Y.T. non-stop, and by non-stop I mean 6 times in a row. Why is that?

OLDIES

I discovered this flickr through the blog Krisatomic a while ago (great blog btw), and I thought I'd share. The flickr is filled with old pictures, some are funny, some are sad, but all of them are 100% entertaining. If you've got some spare time, leaf through the 96 pages, this will probably take a while, but it's so worth it!

I'M BACK

Hi everyone! So I'm back, had lots of fun & I will share some of it with you soon. Just need to sift through all the pictures and get the pictures I took with my vintage camera developed (will probably take a while). In the meantime, I'll leave you with these pictures, we found ourselves a very nice old photobooth in Palais de Tokyo and just had to take some pictures!
Oh and you can still listen to my SSSSOUNDTRACK here. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, read the previous post ^-^)

PHOTO FUN

A while ago I told you about an old camera I got. Well, I'm glad to tell you the camera is still in perfect working condition! I did some test shots as you can see below (maybe boring subjects, but I just wanted to test it ASAP so I shot the things close to me, eg. my garden & my pets).

Photobucket
Meet Dolores, one of my chickens! (She preferred to stay anonymous so she shook her head a bit to make sure no other chicken would recognise her on this photo...)

Photobucket
Hahaa, this one's really weird, that's because it's a double exposure (unintentionally, but I like the outcome so now I just say I did that on purpose, right? ^-^). The first picture is a picture I took in my room, you can see 2 mugs and my drapes in the background. The second picture is a picture of my sister I took on our terrace, you can barely see her face, but it's there! (look between the cups!)

Photobucket
A very interesting door...

Photobucket
I took this picture of the sky because I wanted to see how the camera changes the colours. As you can see on the picture, the sky looks very very pale, almost light grey. But when I took the picture, the sky was actually really really blue! So the camera tones the colours down quite a bit! (I like the hint of pink too!)

Photobucket
Neighbourhood watch... I saw there's a little mark on the picture, above one of the windows. I'll have to check if that's because of the scanning or a default on the picture itself...

Photobucket
The garden is getting greener & greener everyday! Hooray SPRINGTIME! (I know, there's a lot of brick walls too, but once the big trees have their leafs, the garden does look better ^-^!)

I hope I will be able to get more pictures out of this little camera (well little, it's pretty heavy actually!), if I do, I'll be sure to share them with you!
Have a great weekend!

VINTAGE CAMERA

I've recently discovered an old camera my dad had hidden in his closet. It is an old Kodak Retina IIa. He says 'It was the camera my dad (my grandfather) brought with us whenever we went on holiday.' It's a pretty old camera, I don't know the exact date but it was produced from 1951-1954 so it's over 50 years old! Mine does look a little more ,hum, 'vintage' as the one pictured below. I haven't tested it out with a film yet, but I'm going to get some tomorrow and try this thing out! I really hope it still works. Anyone of you familiar with vintage cameras?

BOWS & BANDITS

Need vintage? Find it HERE!
The shop is called Bows & Bandits, it's a really cute shop with -of course- really cute stuff!
Behind Bows & Bandits are Eva & Sophie, 2 sisters from Austria.
They describe their shop as 'A carefully selected Austrian vintage collection
combined with Rock´n Roll chic. You will always find something unique
and glamorous to add to your wardrobe.'
Here are some of their pictures (love their pictures!):

The shop works through ebay, visit it here here or through their website.
At the moment, they offer the cutest little bags, fur hats, scarfs, dresses, ETC!
these are my favourites:

But there's lots more, AND they add new things every week! YAAAY!
