I've lost count of how many times I've featured Freunde von Freunden up here, but how could I not feature them in my Advent Calendar, especialy now that they have their own book out! HOORAY!

If you're not into the whole spend-your-afternoon-on-the-internet-going-through-pictures-of-peoples-awesome-homes-you-wish-you-lived-in thing, you might like this. It's their website, but in book-form. Would make an AWESOME gift for anyone who's into design/homes/art/etc.

FREUNDE VON FREUNDEN SPREADS ITS WINGS!

My favourite interior-peeking website, Freunde von Freunden, is expanding. Previously they only photographed inspiring people (and friends of friends as the title suggests) in Berlin, but now they're launching some international interviews as well- YAAY! Even more good news: the interviews are now written in English rather than German which will let you get to know the person behind the interior better - I know a little bit of German but it wasn't nearly enough to understand the interviews so this change makes me quite happy.

First up are London & Paris (for example Cynthia Lawrence-John & Joseph Dirand), but more is coming very soon.

New interviews in September will include interior designer Regine Safronoff and graphic designer Akroe from Paris; knitwear designer Sibling, product design studio Raw Edges and bookshop owner Conor Donlon from London; artist Antonio Santin, art collectors Christian and Karen Boros, graphic designers of haw-lin.com and fashion designer Hien Le from Berlin; designer Guto and photographer Fran Parente from Sao Paolo as well as Marc Atlan from LA.

So yes - high five to the entire Freunde von Freunden team!

In other news - yes, I am finally back from my holiday, which means posting will resume! I'll have a few pics ready from my Scandinavian road trip, give me some time and you'll get to see them soon (hopefully). FRIENDS OF FRIENDS PT.2

So I've featured Freunde Von Freunden on here before, but I couldn't help myself from posting some of their recent shoots. If you're not familiar with them yet, let me do a quick intro: Freunde Von Freunden (that's german for friends of friends) is a german collective that photographs (by Aline Liefeld) and interviews intersting & creative people around Berlin in their homes, studio's, etc. (they're going international soon so be sure to keep an eye on them).

We all love a peek in people's homes, especially when they're as amazing as these, right? If you want to read the accompanying interviews, you'll have to speak German though (or you can just resort to some google-translate-ing).

I spent a great deal of yesterday afternoon browsing the Freunde Von Freunden site again - whoops. I can't help it, all these people live in the most wonderful houses and apartments. It's a shame my German isn't too well so I can't understand everything that's written in their interviews, but oh well, a picture says a thousand words, right?

FREUNDE VON FREUNDEN

While I'm away, I wanted to show you a website I've been following for a while, it's called 'Freunde von Freunden' (translates as 'friends from friends'). I think the easiest way to describe it is a german equivalent for The Selby. I'll show you a few pictures from a very lovely home ( home to Ines Colmorgen + André Wyst), but if you like these, you'll enjoy browsing through the rest of the site too, so go and take a look!



Is that a giant Charles & Ray Eames - Hang-it-all ? Wow! Also, does anyone know who makes the lamp hanging above the table? I've seen them around but never found out where they're from.

Edit: Thanks to Fredrika we now know the lamp is called "Bumling" and is made by Atelje Lyktan in Sweden. Thanks Fredrika!
