ADVENT CALENDAR - DAY 21

Holidays means time to get your bake on! This'll be a great help when you're wondering how on earth your mom made such a wonderful Tarte Tatin and you don't even know where to begin. It's THE encyclopedia of baking everyone should have, master The Art of French Baking right now people!

ADVENT CALENDAR - DAY 8

I've lost count of how many times I've featured Freunde von Freunden up here, but how could I not feature them in my Advent Calendar, especialy now that they have their own book out! HOORAY!

If you're not into the whole spend-your-afternoon-on-the-internet-going-through-pictures-of-peoples-awesome-homes-you-wish-you-lived-in thing, you might like this. It's their website, but in book-form. Would make an AWESOME gift for anyone who's into design/homes/art/etc.

Tune of the day: Hannulelauri - Zombie Tropicana, just because they're awesome.

LIBRARY FILLERS

If you want to end up with a big library when you're old and wrinkled, you'd better start collecting those books ASAP, right? Well, let me help you with that.

LN-CC has a great selection of art books, here are some of my favourites (if you see something you like, you'd better be quick because these sell out pretty fast...! In fact, the Hedi Slimane book is now sold out. Oops!)

Hedi Slimane Anthology of a Decade

Ryan McGinley - Black Jack

Left:Hussein Chalayan
Right: The Quieter Poster Boys - Brett Lloyd

And of course, your library will need some interesting trinkets too - in come the Our Exquisite Corpse skulls! These are pretty fantastic - yes, macabre too - but let's not think about that too much. These are made in collaboration with the Huichoi people of Mexico, be sure to check out the rest of the skulls and zoom in on the pictures (the details are amazing).

This one's actually the only one not sold out yet, so hurry up if you've got a library to fill!

THEYSKENS + CLAESSENS

Olivier Theyskens designed his last collection for Nina Ricci back in march -remember?- but since then, he's been keeping himself busy. Another project of his is due to come out this month and this little preview looks promising!
Add this to your book-wishlist: "Olivier Theyskens: The Other Side of the Picture"
The book is a collaboration between Theyskens and backstage photographer Julien Claessens.

Leaf through the book on the publisher's website or scroll down and let these pictures do the talking:
