HEDI SLIMANE - I LOVE USA

Today, on 10/10/10, The Corner announced its second feature film, a very very VERY exclusive film by none other than my favourite photographer, yes, Hedi Slimane! (if you missed their first fashion film, get over here and watch one of the sweetest videos you'll ever see)

The film (well, they call it "chrono-photography") is called 'I LOVE USA', USA being a nickname Slimane gave to the girl in the video, Sidney. If you've been following Hedi's photo diary you might have already seen Sidney on there before, or, if you're a loyal reader of Yes Please Mademoiselle, you might have spotted her here a while back. Also in the video is Wolf, playing cello. Hedi Slimane spotted both of these teens at Coachella in 2009 & 2010. (So yeah, you know where to go if you want to be spotted by mister Slimane!)

Sidney improvises a chaotic cheerleader (not your average all american sweet cheerleader) and Wolf is doing an ‘indie’ representation of Prokofiev's ‘Peter and the Wolf’ narrated by David Bowie, 1978 (it's on Amazon if you want it, here). Wolf accompanies Sidney on his out of tune cello, in a wolf mask. Completing the image is the American flag, often reoccuring in Slimane's work.
