SAINT HEDI
I used to post something Hedi Slimane-related probably once a month, but... it's been a year since I last mentioned him on here (I checked). Shame on me, this is not proper die-hard-hedi-fan behaviour. Still, love you long long long time, Hedi. (and please, let this be a gentle reminder his name is STILL Hedi, not Heidi. The times I've seen his name misspelled is ridiculous).
These are some stills from his Diary, he still updates it all the while working hard on that Yves Saint Laurent collection, needless to say I'm overjoyed. I am the first to admit I like his photographic work better than his fashion-work, which doesn't mean I don't think he's talented by the way -he's absolutely brilliant- it's just not so much for me. THAT being said, he's doing some photography for Saint Laurent as well, please, look at them here.

LIBRARY FILLERS
If you want to end up with a big library when you're old and wrinkled, you'd better start collecting those books ASAP, right? Well, let me help you with that.
LN-CC has a great selection of art books, here are some of my favourites (if you see something you like, you'd better be quick because these sell out pretty fast...! In fact, the Hedi Slimane book is now sold out. Oops!)

Hedi Slimane Anthology of a Decade

Ryan McGinley - Black Jack

Left:Hussein Chalayan
Right: The Quieter Poster Boys - Brett Lloyd
And of course, your library will need some interesting trinkets too - in come the Our Exquisite Corpse skulls! These are pretty fantastic - yes, macabre too - but let's not think about that too much. These are made in collaboration with the Huichoi people of Mexico, be sure to check out the rest of the skulls and zoom in on the pictures (the details are amazing).

This one's actually the only one not sold out yet, so hurry up if you've got a library to fill!

HEDI SLIMANE ROCK DIARY / PHOENIX
Oops, it turns out drafts don't automatically become posts if you let them sit in your account long enough... So yes, a bit overdue, but still pretty cool: Hedi Slimane (do I still have to mention he's my favourite photographer every time I do a post about him? yes? ok then: HE'S MY FAVOURITE!) taking a peek in the Phoenix studio while they're recording their new album. (And I hope you're all familiar with the wonderful French band Phoenix? You know, those guys from Versailles who make great music? The lead singer Thomas Mars who's Sofia Coppola's beau and who also looks A LOT like the young Steve Jobs?)
The pictures date back from May 2011 and were shot in New York where the 4 Phoenix boys (Thomas Mars, Laurent Brancowitz, Christian Mazzalai and Deck D'Arcy) were recording their new album. Can't wait to hear the finished album but I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait for that for at least another couple of months. I'm sure it'll be as amazing as their other ones though.

And here's a little something something to keep your headphones busy. This is my most played Phoenix song in iTunes, but they have SO many great songs so if you like this one be sure to check out the rest of them.

ANOTHER MAN
Yeah yeah, you know I need my Hedi Slimane fix once in a while, right? This is an editorial he shot for Another Man spring/summer 2011 issue. Seems like model on duty is Lindsey Wixon, don't know who the guys are though, any guesses?

FRAGMENTS AMERICANA
I visited this exhibition about 2 weeks ago in Brussels and I just thought I'd let you know how great I think it was... (I'd been meaning to visit ever since I read about it in January!)
I am of course talking about the Fragments Americana exhibition by Hedi Slimane at the Almine Rech Gallery. There's a parallel exhibition in Paris as well, (also at the Almine Rech Gallery) so you can check that one out if you're around. Beware though, they both close THIS saturday, so hurry up if you can :)!

Oh hello, yes, that's Immi again! - this was taken on the same day as the streetstyle pics
These pics are by me, but of course, the artwork in the pictures is by Hedi Slimane, found at Almine Rech Gallery
