THE HITCHCOCK CLASSICS

This is an editorial from Vanity Fair from over a year ago (February 2008, The Hollywood Portfolio) but I loved these so much I had to share them. Based on stills from Alfred Hitchcock's movies, Vanity Fair recreated these iconic moments in movie history with actors like Marion Cotillard, Charlize Theron, Emile Hirsch, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightly, Seth Rogen and more.
I love Hitchcock movies. I have long but seen them all, but the ones I did see are some of my favourite movies ever. If you have seen some of his movies, I'm sure you'll recognise a few of these shots. Check out the others on Vanity Fair where you'll find a short description and a link to the original still taken from the movie!

Charlize Theron - Dial M for Murder, 1954

Scarlett Johansson & Javier Bardem - Rear Window, 1954

Keira Knightley & Jennifer Jason Leigh - Rebecca, 1940

Emile Hirsch & James McAvoy - Strangers on a Train, 1951

Renée Zellweger - Vertigo, 1958

Gwyneth Paltrow & Robert Downey Jr. - To Catch a Thief, 1955

Jodie Foster - The Birds, 1963

Seth Rogen - North by Northwest, 1959

Marion Cotillard - Psycho, 1960

All pictures from Vanity Fair, photographer is Norman Jean Roy.

Which Hitchcock movies have you seen? Any favourites? Mine are Rear Window & Vertigo!

Ooh! I'm so glad you shared these pictures, I had never seen them before, and they are absolutely brilliant!!!

LOVE Hitchcock movies, I think my favourites are: 'Rear Window' (LOVE Grace Kelly AND Jimmy Stewart), Dial M for Murder, Vertigo and To catch a Thief, Love North by Northwest too. Ah, now I feel like renting a Hitchcock and watching it again :)

OMG. This editorial is amazing.

I'm not a fan of Scarlett Johannson, but the "Rear Window" photo is great. (And of course, it's my fave Hitchcock - who can say no to Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart.) But Jodie Foster looks perfect in the "Birds" rendition as well. She perfectly portrays coiffed 1960s fear.

Ooh, this is such a fabulous editorial - especially loving the Dial M for Murder photograph. Charlize Theron looks stunning. I'll be honest, the only Hitchcock film I have ever seen was Psycho. I need to see a few more! :)
