I've recently discovered an old camera my dad had hidden in his closet. It is an old Kodak Retina IIa. He says 'It was the camera my dad (my grandfather) brought with us whenever we went on holiday.' It's a pretty old camera, I don't know the exact date but it was produced from 1951-1954 so it's over 50 years old! Mine does look a little more ,hum, 'vintage' as the one pictured below. I haven't tested it out with a film yet, but I'm going to get some tomorrow and try this thing out! I really hope it still works. Anyone of you familiar with vintage cameras?

I recently acquired a Leica screwmount IIIF black dial camera that's around the same age. the buttons are a bit sticky, so i had to send it in for a repair. film camera has a magical quality that just can't be reproduced in the too clean lines of digital.
that's amazing how through those years. the camera stayed in good condition
and sorry no, don't know much about vintage cameras
you'll be able to get amazing results with that camera once you get it up and running. so cool!
xx
so cool. i;ve never worked with something from the 50s. i use a mamiya and minolta from the 60s and they're freaken awesome. they help capture rawness rather than the HD which makes everything perfect. they're mistakenly beautiful!
Oh, that camera looks amazing! The most 'vintage' camera I've used is from the 80's, so not quite vintage, I guess...Hope we get to see some pics from yours ;)
xx
Wow, what an amazing find.
Wow can't believe it's so old..Hope you will managed to take pictures with it !
wow, you're so lucky! I don't have experience with these camera's but I'd love to own one. :)
beautiful. i have a vintage minolta SLR that my dad gifted me. haven't gotten around to figuring it out yet, but it's quite the time-piece.
that's beautiful, what a gret find! I find cameras from the 1950s have an exquisite design and photo capture! does it take 12mm or 35mm? make sure it's not mouldy inside and the frames are aligning still! :D
That camera gives me the shivers! So beautiful. My boyfriend is a photo major and owns more vintage cameras than I'm allowed to ask about. I just found an old camera in my grandma's closet and it had unused, expired film in it. I was floored by the pictures I developed. I was so happy about them I had to post them on my blog. :) I know, I'm a nerd.
I recently downloaded an application called Retro Camera to my google phone. It's lots of fun. it reminds me of old cameras I once used.I have these photos on my blog.
