So I was rummaging through my archives today because I was putting together an album with all the photographers I've featured on here for the Yes Please Mademoiselle Facebook page, and doing a little more research on Irving Penn's pictures, I suddenly came across this picture. Guess I found where the idea came from... And yes, I am disappointed to know that the idea of Paris Vogue wasn't originally theirs but just a picture from Irving Penn from 1969, actually an advertisement he made for L'Oréal. What say you?

Yeah, the whole smeared make-up has been done a whole handful of times, but I really like the whole Vogue Paris did it. I think it's a stunning shot and it's putting their own spin on it.
