FORM FUNCTION

I love this editorial from Italian vogue (january 2009).
The architectural works are by Zaha Hadid. I'm not really a Zaha Hadid fan, but I guess her works go well with this editorial. (If you don't know who she is, she designed the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion, I included a picture on the bottom of this post).
The cover is great (take note US Vogue!), the colours are simple and it makes the editorial so clean, just the way I like it.

I came across these pictures of Marc Jacobs' Paris apartment a few years ago and rediscovered them only recently. He has a LOT of art, and by a lot I really mean a lot. His apartment is filled with it, there's art everywhere. Maybe too much art? Hmm perhaps you can never have enough art...

4TH FOLDER, 4TH PICTURE

I was tagged by the lovely Petra from City of Petra (super great blog, visit it now if you haven't already!),
you've probably seen this tag before:

1. go to the 4th folder on your computer where you store your images
2. pick the 4th picture in the folder
3. explain the picture

Actually this is my twin sister, the picture was taken on NYE 08/09. But obviously I poladroided it, I had to try the polaroid thing out and since those were the most recent pictures I had... VOILA!
(I have to be honest here, this isn't at all my 4th folder since I only have 1 folder of pictures on my computer at the moment, but let's all pretend it's the 4th OK? ^-^)

So now I have to tag 4 people to do the same, but I don't know who already got this tag and who didn't so if you haven't, FEEL FREE TO TRY IT OUT!

HEDI CHEZ YVES

If you hadn't already noticed, I'm a big Hedi Slimane fan. I have his website on speed-dial in my browser (you can't really call it that way since it's an internet browser and not a phone, but you get the point). So Hedi has 2 files where he regularly posts new pictures, one is called 'Hedi Slimane diary' basically his diary in pictures, people he meets, places he visits etc. The other one is called 'Fashion diary' where he posts pictures of editorials he shoots - most recently the Lara Stone editorial for Paris vogue, I posted one picture here:


But also new in his 'Fashion diary' were these pictures he shot at the home of Yves Saint Laurent (along with a few pictures of his good friend Pierre Bergé) and I think these are some of the best Hedi Slimane pictures EVER. Maybe it's just because they remind me of Yves Saint Laurent, you tell me, but I think they're amazing.

I had to look twice before I noticed the thing hanging on this necklace was actually a GIANT earring! I would love to see how people react on it if you're wearing this, probably some weird stares and then "Is that an earring you're wearing!?" You'll probably get a good laugh out of it.

So I hope I'm not boring you with all of these prefall shows, but this is Lanvin and since I'm a Lanvin-lover, I'm not keeping this one from you!

Big fan of #3 (first row) and #2(second row).
The sequins-look on the second row is obviously pretty over the top, but the gold sequined skirt could look great with a simple black top (and maybe a Lanvin necklace if you still have money left after buying the skirt ^-^)
Oh and PS! Look closely to the model on the last 3 pictures of the first row! Recognise anyone? Maybe with platinum blonde hair? It's Hannelore Knuts! Talk about long time no see...

There were some other prefall shows too, like Balenciaga and Proenza Schouler.
I'm only showing you one picture of Balenciaga because, well, I didn't like it... I'm not anti-fur but this looked a little too scary for me!

LACE IT UP

On another one of my too-pricy-to-buy-but-I-can-look-anyway online store trips, I came across these booties from Givenchy:

I thought they were quite funny, I think I like them!
There is a version with a heel too, but I always was more of a flats person...

ANOTHER PREFALL SHOW

This time it's Phi's turn...

I'm not really into the green, but the overall looks are very very nice. I love the triple belt too, it looks great on the dresses (Note to self: find 3 black belts and get them stiched together by my shoemaker)
Phi is really one that gets better every season!
